TB HOUSE
Project type
Residential
Date
2017
Location
Bodrum / Muğla
Role
DESIGN
TB house was designed for a single family on a challenging plot with irregular boundaries, sloping topography, and an old high retaining wall of the neighboring parcel. Our main goal was to create functional garden areas while taking full advantage of the slope to incorporate various garden activities. The solution was to design a house with green steel canopies, gardens and walkways where each floor is integrated and merged with its corresponding garden level and act as seamless extensions of each level, providing access to the various gardens from every floor. These gardens were seamlessly connected to closed, semi-closed, and open areas, offering a harmonious flow throughout the house.
The house features two entrances. The pedestrian entrance, situated at the highest point of the road in the northwest, is in the narrowest and longest part of the land. From here, one can access the first floor, which houses the bedroom unit with an entrance area. Alternatively, the ground floor can be reached via an inner garden with a ramp. The ground floor accommodates the living area, including a spacious front garden, pool, large living room, and kitchen with views of the front garden and pool. There is a small examination office in the backyard with an independent entrance for visitors. Integrated with the pool, a pool house is designed as a second set adjacent to the retaining wall of the neighboring parcel. The first floor can be accessed via a ramp from the boundary of the embankment, providing direct access to the pool from the upper floor. Finally, the top floor offers a terrace area accessed through interior stairs and an elevator, providing a serene space with sea view for relaxation and enjoyment.
