LA HOUSE

LA House is a residential project, converting an existing building in rough construction into a permanent home for a family of four. Our design approach centered on preserving the existing load-bearing system while strategically incorporating additions to cater to the family's needs. The goal was to create a cohesive yet distinct set of functional units, seamlessly integrating them into both interior and exterior spaces. To achieve this, we employed stone walls to enclose specific areas of the house, serving as a second layer that added cohesiveness to the design. These stone walls delineated spaces, including the main bedroom, living area, and a sleeping area with a private living room.

Utilizing the same stones used in the garden walls, we extended them to construct a pool house next to the endless pool, establishing a visual connection with the built environment. To enhance the spatial experience, the roofed volumes with white plaster finishes were thoughtfully divided into distinct areas, optimizing space usage and adding visual interest to the interior. This resulted in separate zones for the entrance area, kitchen, and mezzanine areas.
