DESIGN + CONSTRUCTION
Guest House 01 is designed as a part of an art project focused on transforming the village's old stone buildings into workshops and accommodation places. The structure features preserved large-scale stone walls, fortified with reinforced concrete columns and beams to serve as a load-bearing system. Existing window openings and old stone ovens which are originally used for heating and kitchen purposes, were renovated and became an important component for interior design.
A previously added reinforced concrete terrace was removed, allowing for the creation of a functional entrance area, stairs, and upper floor terraces to support outdoor activities. In line with the project's sustainable approach, the wood salvaged from the old building was reused in the furniture and finishes, adding a touch of authenticity and a retrospective approach to the overall design.
