T HOUSING

T Housing is a renovation project of an old residence hotel repurposed to meet the current needs and preferences. During the design process, we had several challenges, such as the large existing swimming pool with its high retaining wall creating visual disconnection and isolation from the sea and the existing high building density produced with a structure language that is incompatible with its environment. To address these issues, the pool area was demolished, and the beach area expanded. On this level, new sunbathing and terrace areas were introduced, alongside a restaurant, children's playground area and spa-wellness area planned to be accessible to all guests. To alleviate the visual impact of the multi-story structures, the design employed wide green terraces and balconies, concealing the building density by incorporating greenery into upper floors.

The structural configuration of the existing buildings are preserved and expanded by green terraces and balconies. By opening gaps in the floors where necessary, interior gardens were created in order to ensure natural light and air circulation. On the main road facade, where the entrances are situated, circulation areas are formed with steel and mesh grids with a plan of fostering both a sense of community and providing an individuality with unique entrance areas. The project aims harmonizing architectural elements with the surrounding environment by finding a balance between the built and natural environment.
